| DAY 1 Genesis 37:1-11 What is your impression of Joseph as a seventeen year-old? Genesis 37:12-36 What is your impression of Joseph’s brothers? Did Joseph get what was coming to him? Who is “God’s man” or at least the closest to it, in the story so far? DAY 2 Genesis 39:1-23 How much did Potiphar trust Joseph? List the specific changes in Joseph’s life that came about in this chapter because he was totally trustworthy. How many times does Joseph complain about life not being fair? Genesis 40:1-23 Joseph is trustworthy. Who does he trust? Would you have told the baker the truth? Why? Why not? List the ways in which Joseph proves trustworthy in this chapter. DAY 3 Genesis 41:1-16 How much self-confidence does Joseph have? How much confidence in God does he have? Does the second influence the first? How? Genesis 41:28-40 What factor does Pharaoh see as the most important in who will lead the nation in administering the coming crisis? Does Pharaoh worship God? Write down some thoughts on after answering the two previous questions. DAY 4 Genesis 42 What is Joseph looking for in his “interrogation” of his brothers? Write down your thoughts on the kind of man Rueben is. Genesis 43:1-10 Note the irony about Judah’s willingness to protect Benjamin. Describe your view of Judah. Genesis 43:11-34 What is God’s man doing? Share several observations. DAY 5 Genesis 44 Is the promise the brothers offer in verses 7-9 a promise from honest men? Your view of Judah now? Is Joseph playing fair? Genesis 45:1-24 What emotions would the brothers feel after verse 7? Describe the character traits of Joseph now.
