Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Church members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as handing out bulletins to serving on the worship team.

Missions

First Church is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers. We support the following local and global missions:

Music

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. Our Tech Team members control presentation software, lighting, and video equipment. All of our weekly sermons are broadcast via Facebook Live and uploaded to our website and YouTube page in video format. We also maintain an active Facebook and Twitter feed for additional church communication.

Youth

Young people are very important to us. All of our volunteers go through a child abuse prevention workshop and are background checked for your children’s safety. We provide a clean and safe nursery along with classrooms and large spaces for helping your children grow in Jesus Christ in a fun way.

First Impressions

Greeting and welcoming all of our guests is so important to us. Each week we deploy a team of volunteers who serve as greeters and ushers, hand out bulletins, work at the information center, prepare and serve communion, and help to make the church a warm and hospitable place to worship and learn about God.

Pastoral Care

Our staff and elders care about our church. They make visits when our people are shut-in at home, in the hospital, living in nursing homes, or just need someone to talk to. Our ministers provide pre-marital counseling for those seeking to get married and one-on-one counseling for those who wish to know more about their relationship with Christ or simply need to know more about the Bible.

Outreach

Our goal is to reach as many as we can for Jesus. So, we provide outreach opportunities throughout the year such as participating in the annual Mum Festival, hosting a Family Fall Festival, and putting on various events and activities such as volleyball, dinners, and worship services.
